Trade with Members of Your Own Club

In the near future we will be introducing Trading Clubs to our site. This feature will allow you to form your own trading club or join an existing one. You will be able to easily find what other members have to trade and discuss your trading experience in a forum dedicated to your club’s members. Trading clubs will be formed to bring together friends and family or people with shared interests. Organizations that represent special interest groups for whom trading is an attractive alternative will also be able to form Trading Clubs for their memberships. Our site will support clubs sponsored by small businesses that may have trading affinities.

The purpose of the Trading Clubs is to allow our users to search for trades within a community to which they naturally belong, in which they feel comfortable, and through which they can pursue trading opportunities with like minded individuals.

Trading Clubs will be organized by and within categories. In addition to your own friends and family, clubs could be organized by your geographic region, by specific types of services, by your interest in items related to the environment (green), or by your lifestyle and what types of items you may be interested in. The major club categories will include, among other things, artists and entertainers, books, collectors, gamers and hobbyists, moms and dads, music, seniors, sports and exercise, students, technology and travelers.

Once introduced, we encourage you to use the clubs as another way of organizing your trading activity. While you will be able to join certain clubs (like those organized around another user’s friends) by invitation only, other clubs will be available to anyone with a shared interest. Again, if you don’t find a club that matches your trading interests, we will urge you to sponsor your own.

Think Trading Clubs is a good idea? Any suggestions related to this feature (such as a special category, or type, of club)? Let us know.

BarterQuest Introduces Features to Support Trading in Real Estate

April 7th, 2009

BarterQuest (www.barterquest.com), a platform that supports the cashless exchange of goods, services and real estate, today announced it has incorporated a range of features to support the trading of real estate. BarterQuest enables the exchange of real estate for temporary use and, in the near future, for permanent ownership. Any type of real estate can be bartered, including apartments, offices, vacation homes, and timeshares. The site now has the complete spectrum of features necessary to facilitate the barter of goods, services, and real estate, locally and internationally, both within or between these categories. Trading on BarterQuest is free.

“Barter continues to attract consumers in this difficult economic environment, and real estate provides yet another possibility for users to trade and save money. Our site now has the comprehensive set of features and the technical capabilities required to barter an endless variety of items,” stated Dr. Paul Bocheck, President of BarterQuest. “BarterQuest is committed to providing our users with the greatest number of trading alternatives and the means to find the best trades for their needs. Our proprietary technology allows our users to easily navigate their trading options and locate potential partners by instantly matching “haves” and “wants” anywhere in the world.”

Additional features have also been added to improve the user’s overall trading experience. These include an enhanced search function enabling users to more quickly identify local trading possibilities, a simpler interface and redesign of the home page.

Apology for Multiple Emails

Yesterday afternoon, we sent out a message to all our users, with details about the current promotion running on our site. However, we mistakenly sent the message multiple times, causing most of our users to also receive multiple Emails of the same message in a short period of time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. This was a mistake on our part. We are currently investigating the issue and taking the necessary steps to make sure this won’t happen again. We appreciate all of our users, and want everyone to be 100% satisfied with our site and services.

If you have further inquiries about this issue, feel free to contact us. We’ll be more than happy to answer your questions.

BarterQuest featured in Fox My9 News!

BarterQuest was recently featured on Fox My9 News (New York) during a feature piece on the rise of bartering and its advantages. It’s a great piece on how in this economy, trading can help everyone with a lot of their needs.

We Have Great Items to Trade With You!

To celebrate both the Holiday Season and our launch, we have some really great things to trade with you!

Until January 15, 2009, we want to see who can send us the best offer for a Prada Leather Handbag, a Nintendo Wii, or an iPod Touch. If you offer us something good, you might be trading it in for one of these items! All you need to do is register on BarterQuest, post the item (or items) you want to barter, make us an offer we can’t refuse before January 15, and on January 21st we’ll choose the best offer for each of these items. It’s that simple, and it’s free!

For more information on the promotion and the items, check out our Promotion page.

Happy Trading!

Public Launch on Thursday, December 11th

BarterQuest.com was launched on Thursday, December 11th. We believe that anyone who has an interest in both saving money and conserving our planet should be interested in the new world of Internet trading. With our proprietary technology that instantly matches the haves and wants of our users in two party and multi-party trades, BarterQuest represents the next generation of trading sites. We want to make barter easy, not only among small groups but on a large scale. In so doing, we seek to promote trading as an important alternative to the cash economy and the waste inherent in our constantly disposing of the old and buying the new. Please let us know how we are doing and how we can improve.

Trade Your Service – Live in BarterQuest!

We’ve been mentioning for quite a while now about the new major feature to arrive in BarterQuest – Bartering your services. After a lot of work, it’s now up and running live on our site!

Bartering your service will be just as easy as bartering your goods – You post your service, enter what you want in return, and that’s it! When posting services, you choose how long you want your service to be on our site. The main difference between trading services and trading goods is that your goods can only be traded once, while your service will remain on our site after trading. Also, you won’t be limited to trading the a service for another service – You can mix services and goods in a trade.

Whether you want to browse through the site and offer your service to other people or you prefer to let our Matching engine do the work for you, we hope you’ll find our service invaluable to getting your name and your service out there!

We’re still in our Beta Testing period, which means you have free use of our site now, including postingand trading services. But it won’t last long, as we’re planning on having our public launch very soon. So go register while you still have time!

BarterQuest featured in Elevator Magazine

In the November 2008 issue of The Elevator magazine, BarterQuest was featured in an article. This article is more directed towards investors, as it explains the company’s business model and the investment opportunities it can provide for prospective investors. It’s an interesting read, which outlines the bright future we all expect BarterQuest to have. You can read the article in PDF format.

However, if you want to get to know our site better, please visit our site at http://www.barterquest.com and register for our Beta Testing period. Posting during this period is free, and if you’re able to complete a successful trade, you’ll have a full year of free use on the site! Can’t get any better than that. We expect to end the Beta Testing period soon, so time’s running out if you haven’t registered yet. Start trading!
